FAQ

Which trading pairs are supported by the Limit Order feature in the public beta?

Currently, only the ICS/ICP pair is supported. However, once the feature is updated to the official version, it will support all trading pairs.

Are real ICS and ICP tokens used in the public beta Limit Order feature?

Yes, to provide a true experience of the Limit Order feature, real tokens are being used.

I don’t have ICS or ICP tokens, but I want to try the Limit Order feature. Are there any test tokens available?

We recommend purchasing a small amount of tokens to try out the feature, as it doesn’t require much to create a limit order. Additionally, we may consider adding test tokens for the Limit Order feature after the public beta has been available for some time, so stay tuned!

Why has my Principal changed when I connect to the public beta using II (Internet Identity)?

When you connect to any DApp using II, a unique and separate Principal ID is generated for each connection. For example, connecting to the NNS frontend or ICPSwap DApp will generate different Principal IDs. You’ll need to transfer tokens to this newly generated Principal ID to use them.

Why isn’t the Limit Order feature being tested directly on the official version or using official liquidity?

Although we’ve internally tested multiple versions extensively, issues could still arise. If we conducted the test on the official version and encountered issues, it could disrupt official liquidity pools and trading, which we want to avoid. Most importantly, to ensure asset security, the Limit Order feature code will be released on ICPSwap official version only after an audit by a security firm.

When I was creating a limit order, it stuck due to network issues. After refreshing the page, my tokens were gone. How can I recover them?

Creating a limit order isn’t affected by slippage, high transaction volume, or other factors like Swap orders, so it generally won’t fail. Failures are usually due to network issues or refreshing the page while the order is being executed.

If this happens, your tokens are likely still in your pool balance. To check, go to the Swap page, select the ICS/ICP pair, and view your pool balance. Or, you can go directly to this link to see your pool balance at the bottom of the page.

In rare cases, network issues may cause the limit order to fail, resulting in a single-sided liquidity position. If this happens, go to the Liquidity page, click the “Don’t see a pair you joined?” button, and select ICS and ICP, import the single-sided liquidity. You can then remove it and recreate your limit order.

Finally, our dev team is working to improve the limit order experience, and we look forward to sharing it with you soon!

I don’t see Swap Pro in the public beta version.

The Swap Pro feature with Limit Orders will be available in the official version. Stay tuned!

What’s next for the Limit Order feature after the public beta?

Our next steps are to stabilize running the Limit Order feature in the public beta, document any issues or areas for improvement, and make adjustments as needed. Once resolved, we’ll conduct internal testing, and if everything is clear, we’ll submit the code for an external audit. After addressing any audit feedback (if any), the Limit Order feature will be launched in the official version.

ICPSwap Limit Orders vs. Swap Orders

A swap order only executes instantly at the current market price, while a limit order allows you to trade tokens at a specific price you set.

Is There Slippage on Limit Orders?

No, limit orders have no slippage and will execute exactly at the set price.

What Are the Advantages of ICPSwap’s Limit Order Feature?

Unlike Uniswap or PancakeSwap, ICPSwap’s limit orders allow users to earn fees without paying network gas fees and offer flexibility in managing orders. On ETH-based platforms, users often incur gas fees on each fill or cancellation.
